Tesco Bags For Help
The Music department at Batley Grammar School is bidding to bag a cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. In collaboration with the Groundwork charity, Tesco makes grants of £4000, £2000 and £1000 to local community projects. So far Bags of Help has awarded more than £71 million to over 23,000 community projects.
The community project on offer is a collaboration between Batley Grammar School and the local music HUB, Musica Kirklees. Mr Kirsfelds, the Teacher of Music has this to say about the project:
“Offering a DJ and Music Production Club will expand the current musical provision in the local area and hopefully attract a new audience who are interested in making electronic music. The grant will allow us to purchase some industry standard DJ and Music Production equipment, as well as the expertise of a working DJ to teach young people how to use it. I am really looking forward to seeing this project come to life in the near future”
Voting is open in local Tesco stores during May and June. You can support out bid by casting a vote using the plastic token given to you at the checkout after making a purchase. There will be token collectors for the project in the following stores:
Finally, if you would like to support our bid by putting up a poster in a public location e.g. workplace, community group, etc. then please collect one of these from reception.
Thanks in advance for your support with our bid!
